Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Class 1 Driver for a full-time, permanent role based in Colchester.
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 50 hours on days.
Salary: Starting at £35,642.10 annually, with a pay increase in July.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating Class 1 lorries to deliver goods safely and efficiently.
- Conducting vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Communicating with dispatchers and warehouse staff about schedules and issues.
- Loading, unloading, and securing cargo properly.
- Maintaining accurate delivery records.
- Following traffic laws and ensuring road safety.
- Providing excellent customer service during deliveries.
Skills required:
- Clear communication with team and clients.
- Proficiency in driving various commercial vehicles.
- Valid commercial driving licence.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor repairs.
- Experience in delivery or warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and reliably.
