HGV Class 1 Driver

Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Class 1 Driver in Colchester to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday during the day shift. The role offers a starting salary of £35,642.10, with a scheduled increase in July.

Operate Class 1 lorries to deliver goods efficiently and safely.

Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure proper condition.

Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients.

Load, unload, and secure cargo properly for transport.

Keep accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel, and incidents.

Follow traffic laws and maintain high safety standards.

Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.

Skills required: strong communication, experience with commercial vehicles, basic mechanical knowledge, and reliability. Previous delivery or warehouse experience is advantageous. The role involves 50 hours per week on days.
