Role Overview:
We are seeking a Class A City Driver responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to pick up and deliver freight, load and unload trailers, and secure cargo. The role involves performing vehicle inspections, adhering to federal and state regulations, including Hazardous Materials requirements, and maintaining accurate compliance records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a commercial vehicle safely across various conditions.
- Load, unload, and secure freight using appropriate equipment.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and report defects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation laws.
- Maintain logs and records for regulatory purposes.
- Follow company policies and safety procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or one year plus approved driving school diploma.
- Pass a driving test administered by an approved trainer.
- Possess or obtain within 90 days a Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement.
- Valid driver’s license issued by the resident state; no recent license suspensions or serious traffic violations.
- Pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screen, and background checks.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English.
- Consent to use driver-facing event recorders and participate in a ten-year work history check.
