Overview
Role: Class A City Driver responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to pick up and deliver freight within city routes.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and inspect vehicles, ensuring safe operation and compliance with regulations.
- Load, unload, and secure freight using appropriate equipment.
- Perform frequent manual handling of freight, including lifting and securing cargo.
- Maintain accurate records, including driver logs, in adherence to federal and state laws.
- Follow all safety policies, including handling hazardous materials and using driver-facing event recorders.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum two years of verifiable interstate driving experience, or one year plus approved driving school diploma.
- Pass a driving test administered by an approved trainer.
- Possess or obtain within 90 days a Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement.
- Valid driver’s license issued by the resident state; no recent license suspensions or serious violations.
- Pass DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, and background checks.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English.
- Consent to drug/alcohol testing, work history verification, and use of driver-facing cameras.
