Overview
Role: Class A City Driver responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to pick up and deliver freight within the city.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate tractor/trailer in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Safely load, unload, and secure freight, utilizing mechanical equipment when available.
- Perform vehicle inspections and report defects to ensure safety.
- Maintain accurate records, including driver logs and compliance documentation.
- Adhere to regulations for hazardous materials transportation.
- Follow policies and procedures, including safety protocols and recordkeeping.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of two years of verifiable interstate driving experience or one year plus approved driving school diploma.
- Pass a driving test administered by an approved trainer.
- Possess or obtain within 90 days a Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsement.
- Valid driver’s license from the resident state, with no recent suspensions or serious violations.
- Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background checks.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English.
- Consent to use of driver-facing event recorders and registration with FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
